The Purple Tie Committee of Darlington School is pleased to announce that The Purple Tie Affair will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Johnson Field House. The Purple Tie Affair is a casual evening event, featuring dinner, a full bar, live and silent auctions, various raffle prizes, a reverse raffle, and live entertainment.
Coordinated by a team of parent volunteers, all proceeds from the event will benefit Darlington’s parent organizations: Pre-K to 8 and Upper School Tiger PRIDE, the Fine Arts Booster Club, and the Athletic Booster Club.
"The Purple Tie team is made up of a huge group of parents who are excited about this year's event," said Ali Booker, mother of Wren, Court and Sawyer. "We have had so much fun getting to know each other better and we're all working hard to make sure this year's event is hugely successful. The biggest thing we want to do is get the word out about how much fun the night is, along with the fact that each one of our precious children benefits from the proceeds from the night. I hope everyone will make plans to attend!"
The grand prize for this year's reverse raffle is $10,000 cash. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $100 each by sending an email to purpletie@darlingtonschool.org or by visiting the Tickets & Tables page. Only 300 raffle tickets will be sold.
Admission to The Purple Tie Affair is $75 per person, which includes dinner and an open bar. Patron tables can be purchased for $1,250 and include seating for eight, 16 purple raffle box tickets, and a Patron's Party. Just like last year, there is also an opportunity to "Treat a Teacher" for the event. Attendance will be capped at 450. Click here to purchase tickets.
